Why I Use White Outdoor Christmas Lights

I love the Christmas Holidays. I dream about living somewhere where it is snow laden and cold, because it just seems more Christmassy (is that a word?) to me, but i don't think it would be much fun to shovel everyday. However, I do thoroughly enjoy the cooler weather here in the desert and it is absolutely invigorating to be outside in the crisp air and to be decorating my front yard with white christmas lights.
Here are two reasons why I use white outdoor christmas lights.

1. Since I live in the desert, obviously we don't get much snow, so I like to take several strings of white outdoor christmas lights and place them on the ground all over my yard. I try to start at one end of the yard and work in a pattern towards the other side. It is a pretty spectacular sight at night. I also hang the white icicle lights from the roof line to give the added effect of a snowy covered house. And I like to hang them in my trees as well.

2. I think white christmas lights show off better then the colored ones and give off a classier feel and look to your home and yard. That is just my opinion. I also set them to blink quickly, but not too fast, so that it looks like the snow is twinkling in the moonlight, which just adds that special touch of christmas magic.

Christmas lights are about as common as candy canes and fairly inexpensive these days, so you can get away with just a few strands or load up depending on the size of your yard and your pocketbook. They create such a festive look and can really dress up your home. Maybe they'll even draw the eye of a certain reindeer as he is making his way through the sky!
